Four Generations Farm is a hunter jumper training and boarding facility located in Leonard, MI, specializing in developing riders from their first lessons to national competition. With four generations of experience, knowledge, and passion, we’re dedicated to exceptional horsemanship and lasting partnerships between horse and rider.

Four Generations of Horsemanship

Four Generations Farm is a family-run hunter jumper training and boarding facility led by Holly Kalso and Diane Hake, proudly continuing a legacy that began in 1985 with Holly’s grandmother, Sharon Hake. The Hake family is truly a horse-built family, with each generation contributing to the farm’s success and shared passion for the sport. The riding programs at FGF reflect a deep respect for the horse and the long-standing traditions of our sport. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to advance your horse show career, Four Generations Farm offers the knowledge, experience, and community to help you reach your goals.

  • This is our third year at Four Generations, and I truly cannot imagine a better place for my daughter to nurture her love for horses and grow as a rider. From day one, it has been so much more than a riding school, a community that lifts her up, believes in her, and gives her a place where she feels completely at home. The instructors are not only highly professional and knowledgeable, but also genuinely caring human beings. They take the time to understand each rider’s personality, their strengths, and their unique learning style. They know when to encourage, when to challenge, and when to give a reassuring word. Because of that, my daughter walks into every lesson feeling safe, confident, and excited.

  • We have been part of the FGF family for 10 years. My daughter started in the riding school and summer camp in 4th grade, and joined the training program the minute she was ready to move up. She has competed locally and nationally with FGF, under Holly Kalso and Diane Hake and has had great success in their program. Highly recommend Four Generations Farm training program and the school for putting safety first with all riders, from the littlest kiddos up to the adults. The staff are focused on the care and welfare of the horses and treat every horse like their own.
